The Oxford XCLPS-HP self-cleaning filter is the high-pressure version of the XCLPS blade-type scraping filter, designed for continuous industrial liquid filtration applications up to 50 Barg / 725 psi at 50°C. The internal blade cleaning system removes retained solids from the stainless steel wedge wire element without opening the filter housing, helping reduce manual cleaning, fluid exposure and process downtime.

Available with manual or automatic operation, the XCLPS-HP is suitable for compatible process liquids ranging from water-like fluids through to selected high-viscosity liquids. Flanged units are available in larger connection sizes from DN50 through to DN300, making the XCLPS-HP suitable for higher pressure duties, larger flow applications and installations where a fully enclosed self-cleaning filtration system is required.

Larger flanged XCLPS-HP units are available for higher flow applications, with standard listed sizes up to DN300. Custom fabricated multi-screen arrangements may also be considered for special applications, larger connection sizes or specific installation requirements.

Features and Benefits of the XCLPS-HP Scraping Filter
  • Self-cleaning operation without stopping or significantly disrupting fluid flow.
  • Manual or automatic cleaning options depending on process requirements.
  • Fully enclosed filtration system to reduce operator contact with the process liquid.
  • Stainless steel wedge wire element available from 50 micron.
  • 316 stainless steel construction for industrial liquid filtration applications.
  • Reduced fluid loss during cleaning compared with manual drain and clean operations.
  • Suitable for many liquid viscosities, from water-like fluids to selected viscous products.
  • Can help replace labour-intensive bag filters, open sieves and manually cleaned strainers in suitable applications.
Typical Applications for XCLPS-HP Self-Cleaning Filters

The Oxford XCLPS-HP high-pressure self-cleaning filter is used where suspended solids need to be removed from compatible process liquids under higher pressure conditions. It is suited to applications where conventional manually cleaned strainers, bag filters or open sieves may require frequent cleaning or cause process interruption.

  • Paints, inks, varnishes and coatings: automated filtration of unwanted particulates in process and filling lines, often replacing bag filters, open sieves and other manual filtration methods.
  • Chemical processing: filtration of compatible chemical process liquids to protect downstream equipment and support product quality.
  • Paper industry: process water filtration, spray nozzle protection, raw water intake filtration and cooling water filtration.
  • Power generation: filtration of industrial water, cooling water and sealing water used to help protect turbine shaft seals and related equipment.
  • Water and wastewater: straining of raw water, process water and wastewater streams prior to finer filtration stages.
  • Food and beverage: selected compatible applications, subject to material, seal and hygiene requirements.
