Full Face Flanges

Full Face Flange Cone Strainers Manufactured in Australia

Monarch manufactures full face flange cone strainers in Australia for temporary pipeline protection during commissioning, start-up and maintenance operations. Unlike standard cone strainers that generally sit inside the bolt pattern, a full face flange cone is made to cover the full flange face and includes the bolt hole pattern. This style is often selected where improved location, sealing face coverage, or project-specific flange requirements make a full face design preferable.

Our full face flange cones are produced to suit customer piping and flange standards, with options for perforated plate, wire mesh lining, or combined perforated and mesh construction depending on the required particle retention, strength and operating conditions. Units can be supplied for liquid service, utility lines and other industrial pipeline duties where temporary debris removal is required before permanent equipment is placed into service.

Because these strainers are manufactured in our Brisbane workshop, we can offer a high level of flexibility on dimensions, materials and finishing details. Full face flange temporary strainers can be produced to suit a wide range of sizes, drilling patterns and flange standards, and can be supplied with standard 120 grit disc finish or machined in-house with serrated spiral or serrated concentric flange faces. The page already notes these finish options, and this is a useful point to expand because it differentiates the product from a basic temporary cone.

Typical applications include commissioning of pumps, control valves, meters, heat exchangers and other downstream equipment that must be protected from weld slag, scale, gasket fragments and construction debris during early system operation. Full face flange cones are especially useful where the contractor or end user wants a temporary strainer that positively matches the flange face arrangement and is easier to position during installation.

Monarch can assist with selection of the most suitable construction for the service, including open area considerations, cone length, reinforcement where required, and screen media choice to help balance debris capture with acceptable pressure loss. We also manufacture related temporary strainer components including inverted cone sections, reinforcing and spacer rings, allowing us to supply a more complete temporary strainer solution across a project range.
